SOOZA BRASS BAND
BRASS, JAZZ, METAL
Redefining the future of instrumental music, Sooza creates genre-blending compositions to bring people and styles together from around the world. “Undeniable”, their new album, delivers a growing perspective on brass, jazz, and metal through an unbroken hornline.
Sooza, an American brass band from Gainesville, FL, spent over seven years redefining brass music. Armed with five horn players and a drummer, the band takes a genre-blending approach to traditional second-line brass band music influenced by afro-cuban beats and djent style metal.
Sooza began with performances at local music venues before they expanded to playing at schools and festivals along the east coast, ultimately becoming the signature horn line of Florida. Their novel sound continues to impact a new generation of aspiring musicians to cultivate their love for playing.
The band is working to release their new album ‘Undeniable,” an attempt to describe humanity as an unbroken hornline. The album is defined by songs from the world. From the Italian anti-fascist anthem “Bella Ciao”, to the ethereal lands of the “Gunk Palace”, the band distills the human experience down into one living, mercurial groove.
